Bird Watching Tours

Bhutan is a paradise for bird lovers and ornithologists. To date, there are over 670 species of birds recorded in Bhutan. These include 10 endangered bird’s species (such as Black-necked Cranes) and 16 species of vulnerable birds (such as White Bellied Heron, Pallas Fish Eagle and Blyth’s King Fisher).

Southern Bhutan is the ecological hub of the country, especially Zhemgang District. Zhemgang is not only rich in bird’s species, but also has a wide range of animals. You may have a good chance to spot the Golden Langur, an endemic species of primates.

Chartered Plane Tour
For guests who like to experience alternative sightseeing, sightseeing by air will be a wonderful and unique experience at an extra cost.

On 17 December 2011, Tashi Air has officially launched their Domestic Air Service in Paro. You can charter the 8-seater Swiss turbo propeller airplane (Pilatus PC12) for an hour to experience the spectacular views of the Land of Thunder Dragon from aerial.

You will be able to have a close view of the Himalayas Mountains, Jomolhari and Jichu Drake Mountains or even the highest scared mountain of Bhutan, Gangkar Phunsum, where no human has reached by foot.

Hot Spring Tour

For centuries, Bhutanese uses hot springs to cure various ailments ranging from arthritis to body aches. It is a popular tradition for Bhutanese to visit hot springs during winter.

The most well-known hot springs in Western Bhutan is the hot springs at Gasa, which is situated close to the Mo Chu River. Even domestic and wild animals such as Takin are sometimes found near the outdoor hot springs.

Gasa hot spring is only accessible by 40 minutes short trekking from the nearby road or a 6 hours trekking route via Damji Village. From Damji village, you will pass by beautiful hills of Pine and Oak forests, bamboo forests, sparkling mountain streams and small villages. Before you reach the Gasa hot spring, you will cross a mountain pass where a stunning view of Gasa Dzong seated below majestic snow covered mountains will unfold before your eyes.

There are 3 bath houses at Gasa which have a large bathing pool and 2 smaller pools. The water temperature varies from each pool. Bathing facilities are provided to ensure that the hot springs remain clean and hygienic.

Textile Tours

Bhutanese textiles are very distinctive and are usually inspired by nature. Every region is specialized in a particular pattern of textiles. For example, Bumthang is well-known for “Yatha” which is vegetable dyed wool weaves, whereas Khoma village in Lhuentse is famous for their “Kishuthara” which is an elaborate woven cloth made of silk. Weavers are mostly women who are proud to create textiles that are stunning in color, texture, pattern and composition.
