For touring and sightseeing, light comfortable casual clothing is recommended. As there will be a lot of walking during the tour, it is advisable to bring a pair of comfortable walking shoes. Do keep in handy an umbrella, a hat, sun-block lotion and sunglasses.

As Bhutanese are rather conservative, please refrain from wearing revealing or tight-fitting clothes. Long jeans, pants or skirts are preferred. Dress modestly and respectfully when visiting monasteries, Dzongs and other religious institutions.

As Bhutan is at such high altitude, nights can be very cold all year round. It is advisable to bring a light jacket or warm clothing as the temperature in the night might drop below 50 Fahrenheit or 10 degree Celsius.
