Trekking in Bhutan offers a unique experience unlike other more crowded treks around the world. From a simple 3 day trek to the 25 days legendary Snowman’s trek, Bhutan offers veteran trekkers unforgettable exquisite spots of the country. One of the world’s toughest treks in the world is Snowman Trek which goes over 12 mountain passes, with an altitude of more than 4,500 metres above sea level.

The well-preserved beauty of Bhutan’s natural environment captures the heart of trekkers. Besides, Bhutan is one of the top 10 global hotspots with rich and varied biodiversity. With more than 670 species of birds, 5,400 species of plants and 178 species of mammals, environmentalists, conservation organisations and botanists are amazed by the Government’s strong commitment to conserve the nature.

Many of the trekking routes lead trekkers to the remote and ancient monasteries, deep forest and remote villages. 7 Days Bumdra Trek
In the Bumdra Trek, you will get to visit the Bumdra Monastery which offers beautiful view of the Himalayan Mountain Range. Near the monastery, you will get to see a holy cave where it is believed to have 100,000 footprints of celestial Goddess and fairies. Hence, this trek is also called the “Trek of Thousand Dakinis (celestial female beings.)”. In the descent from our camp, you will visit a number of temples including a hill top nunnery. You also get to visit the Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) along the way.

10 Days Druk Path Trek                         

Druk Path Trek is one of the most popular treks in Bhutan. It is a short and scenic trek with great views of beautiful lakes. It is also a classic walk along high ridges and ruined forts which guarded Bhutan from the Tibetan invasion. Part of the route follows the original mule track that linked Bhutan to the Indian boarder. This area is also famous for its spectacular and beautiful blooms of rhododendrons in spring. The stunning view of Himalayas can be seen in late autumn and winter on clear skies.

11 Days Merak Sakteng Trek
Merak and Sakteng are part of a distinct attraction in Eastern Bhutan. This trek is only approved for trekking in 2010 and only a handful of foreign visitors were allowed to tour this remote highland region. Unlike anywhere else in the country, it offers a visitor a unique semi-nomadic lifestyle, culture and scenic pastoral valleys in the protected area of Sakteng Wildlife Sanctuary in Trashigang in Eastern Bhutan. It is a moderate trek between 1,500 meters and 4,100 meters, traversing through semi-nomadic village.

12 Days Bumthang Cultural Trek
Bumthang Cultural Trek is one of Bhutan’s most attractive destinations for hiking and cultural visits. The 3 days short trek will lead you through one of the most fascinating and sacred valleys of Bumthang. We will pass through several villages and farmland, which provides an excellent opportunity to experience the rural life of Bhutan and its unique culture. We will also have a chance to visit monasteries and Bumthang’s scared lake, “Lake of Burning Fire”.

The Dodena trek is the most popular trek in Bhutan. With an altitude difference of 2,500 metres and nearly 5,000 metres above sea level, this trek offers a wide range of landscape, fauna and flora. The highlight of this trek is the spectacular view of Mount Jomolhari from Jomolhari Basecamp in Jangothang. 22 Days Laya Gasa Trek
The Laya Gasa trek is always referred as one of Bhutan’s most beautiful treks. This trek will give you unforgettable views of Mount Jomolhari, Jichu Drake and Gangchhenta (Great Tiger Mountain). Between Jangothang and Laya, the trail hardly goes below 4,000 metres. One has good opportunities to spot a blue sheep or Bhutan’s national animal, Takin. Beautiful Bhutanese mountain villages, unique culture and appearance of the Layaps (people of Laya district) and a day of relaxation at the Gasa hot springs will add excitement to one’s trekking experience.
